As a nation we are so blessed. Compared to other places we have it made. But just because we live in the land of the free and the home of the brave does not mean that we have everything perfect. Poverty is everywhere! It is in our country, in our cities, on our streets, and in our schools.
This is a real problem. Yet, people all around the country have it made. They drive new cars and live in houses that are way too big for them. If only people would be less self centered and more willing to help people then we would live in a close to perfect world.
People think that living in poverty means those homeless people living on the streets begging for money. But what a lot of people don't realize is that there are parents working full time and still cannot provide for their family. These are people who live in poverty. Men and women who give it all they have to make it, and yet they are still criticized for living in poverty. I just wish people would be a little more thoughtful and a little more helpful. Because those aren't just men and women living in poverty, but there are children in those families too.

About Me
- bethany_hope
- Hey Everyone! My name is Hope Ricks and I am a student at UAB studying Early Childhood/ Elementary Education. I plan on returning to school, once I get my undergraduate degree, to get my Master's degree in Special Education. I have such a passion for children and helping them. I love working with children who have special needs and giving them an opportunity to succeed. Robert M. Hensel once said, "I choose not to place "DIS", in my ability". I think this is so true. Any child is willing to learn as much as you require them too. If you think that they can't, then they will think that they can't. In order for them to believe in themself, you have to believe in them first. I am in love with the one who died for my sins! Jesus Christ has done so much for me and brought me through so much that I could have never done on my own. I cannot wait to meet Him in Heaven and walk with Him and talk with Him! That will be a wonderful day! Well that is pretty much it about me. I hope you enjoy my blog!
